"The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them."

"The East Coast ain’t got no love for Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg? Y’all don’t love us? Well let it be known then!"
the beginning of it all
1995 Source Awards the beginning of the East Coast/West Coast beef? Climax, yes… but not the beginning.
Reppin’ sets has always been apart of hip-hop. But “Fuck Compton" (1991) by Tim Dog is credited with the beginning. But it really escalated when Tupac was robbed and shot (1994) and blamed Biggie/Diddy for it cause they were there at the studio. And you know if someone on your label got beef, you’re supposed to have their back.. so suddenly entire labels are in the beef. And at the time, Hip-hop was ruled by Death Row Records and Bad Boy.. so it just morphed into some East Coast vs West Coast bullshit.
All the while Outkast crept up and won Best Rap Group for Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and while everyone else was beefing and dying… they was
The South Won.

it’s the sudden wave of affection, with which you have shown to me, and that has brought me to conclude, that I really like you too.

"Do you ever think about all the people who you might have fallen in love with if only you’d taken a different way home or stood a little longer in the bread aisle at the supermarket? All the people who might have been an integral part of your life but instead you’ll never know them. The unimaginable impact that our mundane choices have on our lives really gets to me. Think of how many times I might have died if I’d made different choices. Maybe I’d be homeless. Maybe I’d be famous. Maybe I’d be rich. Sometimes I’m so overwhelmed by the impact of my choices that I can’t choose anything at all because I’m afraid today will be the day that I make the choice that changes everything."

"People aren’t either wicked or noble. They’re like chef’s salads, with good things and bad things chopped and mixed together in a vinagrette of confusion and conflict."
